2.715 is exactly what the distance is with my aero precision upper and a S.S.A.L.T. mount from SWFA
I just spoke with Jason at Mega Arms, asking the actual measurement for the distance between the bore center and the top of their AR-15 Mega receiver. The answer is 1.215 inches. Sooooo, this means we can all know the actual scope height for the ballistics calculators we use to predict trajectories.
I use a Burris P.E.P.R. scope mount (one inch height) with a one inch scope tube body (divide by 2) for a total height for my rig of 2.715 inches.
I presume other manufacturers have similar if not identical measurements.
