Hello all, I've just joined, although I've been lurking for some time getting info on my first full AR build. I've been around guns for about 20 years, but just recently got into the AR platform, as well as reloading.

Hi all,
I'm an old bird & mid-size game hunter and never considered an AR platform. I introduced two young men from my old Boy Scout troop to shooting about 4 years ago. Well, they went hog wild and have an artillery that would impress a SEAL Team! They introduced me to their AR's and I'm hooked. I could not believe the .223 ballistics--these kids hit steel at 640 yds !
Anyway, I want a little more hunting power but not a large cartridge and my research has led me to the 6.8 SPC. These forums are an excellent resource--Thanks to all of you for sharing your knowledge and experience.

Hi, first post. I noticed this site because I'm also on the AR Performance forum. Constructor sure knows a lot about AR's. I'm interested in the 6.8 because it will work on one of my lowers for deer hunting, I'm just trying to figure out the ammo and mag situation now. That will come in time.

Right now it looks like a 16" ARP Socom with a 1/11 twist looks good, at least that's what I've learned so far.

Hello Everyone, I am new to the forum and to 6.8. I just purchased a Ruger SR556/6.8. Admittedly it isn't SPC II but the price was really good. I have read portions of the forum before and I am impressed with the information available.

Been lurking for awhile, in the process of building an 18"(ss WC Recon) A2 stocked 6.8spcII. Still need a BCG and scope mounts, will probably get one of H's and a PEPR mount when I get a little more toy money set aside. Lots of good info and not so much attitude on this site; still makes me spend too much money though. Thanks.

Hello all. FNG here, but a vet, lifelong shooter and avid 6.8 fan. I found this forum while looking for parts for a prototype "all purpose" upper upgrade I am building for a local SWAT team member and friend. I am having fun, it's been too long since I did any armorer work, I just wish more parts were in stock but I'm sure you all know that feeling too. Parts are trickling in this week, but once I get a full assembly I'll post pics and range results.

Yet another guy from Texas (South Texas, that is). Been trolling the site for a couple months. Ex-submariner who wanted a larger round for blasting pigs. Been looking at an ARP upper for a build.

I fired my first 6.8 over the weekend thanks to a generous friend. In fact, it was my first time at the range. Now I'm seriously considering putting together one of my own.

The trouble is I'm almost completely clueless. I'm hoping to find a good basic introduction to the 6.8 and some help with the details as I get started.
