Sorry if this is a dumb question but what is the difference between semi auto and full auto bolt carrier, and does it matter which one is used if it will be going in a semi auto AR build? thanks

Never a bad question, I learn something new every day. The semi carrier has less mass (less metal), lighter, and will function fine in your build.

Not a dumb question! But it did have a good answer a few pages back.

Just as a heavier buffer can cause malfunctions in rifles are are a bit on the under gassed side a M16 carrier can cause similar problems, but only if you are right on the edge of short stroking or not locking back to begin with. If you are slightly over gassed as most ARs are, then the M16 carrier and heavier buffer can tame down the recoil impulse just a bit and can be used to time your ejection. But if you do not have a problem then you likely will gain nothing by going to the M16 carrier, although that is the what all the cool kids are doing these days and if you do not also run a M16 carrier you may not be allowed to sit at the cool kid's table.

If we sign a "patience agreement" can we order the 5.56 NiB bolt carrier group so you can ship it when they come in? I always miss the notifications that they are in stock.
