Default Mag, mag, mag (or is it nag, nag, nag)

With all the questions and confusion over this mag or that mag, and if a new "c-products" will start making new quality mags soon, who is making a good quality, reliable mag right now and where can you find them? Also, Stag Arms has 5 and 25 rounders for $30. Are they any good and who makes them?

Stags are reportedly C-prod but I cant confirm that.
PRI is about the best right now for reloaders. D&H is supposed to be coming out with a 6.8 mag I would keep an eye out over at Bravo company. They will sell through them. You could hit up the EE on ARF and see if you could find used one's. Barretts are the best all around IMHO but hinders the reloaders.

6.8 mags appear to be in a state of limbo at the moment. PRI's rumored to be going to be sticking with the 2.295" capacity for their redesign... C-Prod appears to be rumoring to make a come-back. There's a rather unknown (more unconfirmed) new kid on the block in AmmoSC that appear to be awfully familiar to the old C-Prods. The AR Stoners from MidwayUSA appear to be the AmmoSC ones (to me). Barrett's, well... the supply seems to be short due to demand at present... solid mags, but not the best for reloaders. I've got a few to hold me over until things loosen up a little bit.

I bought some Cproducts still in stock from a vendor and the baseplates were marked

    wait for it

    Stag Arms.

Look for the D&H mags in the next 10 days to be released, I'm checking BCM daily once again. You can find Cproducts if you search further than the first Google page (like with Bing) and they can still be found in stock - just not for the old prices, more like $25. It's why they never sold at the website, do confirm they are in stock.

Some have bought the AR Stoner mags, they reported they weren't teflon, and worked fine. They are likely ASC, the new owners of the Cproduct machinery. No comment on how that happened, the individuals have laid that out in threads here and at arfcom.

Just checked bravo company they have pri mags up for sale at a decent price. I have a couple d&h 5.56 mags. If they do the same for their 6.8 mags they will be pretty nice.

Those are the one's who got some C-Product machinery. I got some from them, pretty fast shipping, some one who was more infomerated than me got some and said Finish was OK, dropped out of several AR's at the shop and deemed them "Acceptable" for the price. I been using a 5 rounder a bit and it seems to work well. But then my AR mag experience is limited. But they are affordable and work, oh and spring is Chrome Silicon. When I called last month they said their 7.62x39 mags were always going bye bye. But the 6.8s stay around a bit.

I think people are finally "Discovering" the 6.8 SPC and that maybe another reason affordable 6.8 mags are a bit hard to find. A few forums I looked over people were talking about specs and such and said Ruger didn't have up to date specs and such...(hopefully the info sent to them from the experted people here will help change their mind!) So that people are a bit more edumacated it seems out there now a days. Another reason the 6.8 SPC is the second most AR upper out there. Hmm...given how short a time the 6.8 has been around compared to the other cartridges...that's pretty dang impressive.

When some one needs mags, some one needs mags.
