I've been ponderinng on doing a trigger job to lighten the pull to 4.5 lbs. I love my trigger but I just want to make it a liitle lighter and crisper. Does anyone knows about this company?

I don't know about Apex. If you want a quality trigger job you should check out Bill Springfield. He does excellent work with quick turn around. He offers a military discount also.

They are an excellent company. I have the Apex bits in my M&P 9L and have the 45 parts on the way. The installation is easy and I'm highly satisfied with the results. Randy Lee has made some installation videos which can be helpful. I have 1660 rounds through my M&P 9L/Apex... zero bobbles. Buy with confidence.

Ditto to this comment - I have their hard sear in my FS40 and like it. Waiting on the safety plunger, extractor, and competition springs. Good folks.

BTW, just for the uninitiated - this is a company that makes parts for S&W M&P pistols - not AR's.

+1 on Bill Springfield! I got his 3# trigger job and I feel it is the most cost effective solution. There are superior triggers out there if you want to pay the extra. Very crisp very smooth, check it out.

I went and looked at his website and it just seems that all he does it put the Apex sear in. If thats just the case I can just order it through them and install it myself. It would be 30 instead of 70 plus the extra shipping of my pistol. I dont know what do you guys think?

So how do they make the parts? And does it correct some of the problems that the M&P have?

Not that they have many problems. Mostly a squishy trigger and the slide likes to drop on seating of a mag. And a couple extractor problems.

I know after the statement I just made sounds bad. But I ask because I am looking to get back into the M&P platform and I know these are some problems I would like to address.

This is what they have on their website:

    APEX 45 M&P Hard Sear

    $29.95

"The APEX 45 Hard Sear was designed to enhance the performance of what we consider an outstanding pistol. Our modified geometry will not only improve the over-travel and sear reset characteristics, but dramatically reduce the trigger pull weight in most pistols. This sear is made from heat treated A-2 tool steel for durability and long service life. "

Im not sure what the extraction problems are never had one but they do also have an thing to change out the extractor to make it more reliable. I know about the slide closes on sitting the mag. I guess the release isnt quite tall enough. I just sent an email off to S&W hopefully they will get back to me tomorrow about the slide closing issue.

They are also making a version of the sear for the 9/40/357 versions (the 45 is actually the more recent part - it turns out it is slightly different than the other models). The extractor is to address very limited issues that only competitive shooters with lighter springs have reported.

The safety plunger is the other item they are producing that cleans up the trigger pull - and a set of competition springs are coming out soon (hopefully this week as they are the last item I'm waiting for order to ship!).
