LOTS of pictures posted
I directed him here but someone may need to get over there and add some expert opinions. Looks like it could have been a tight Kotonics with SSA XTream but I'm not sure yet which SSA ammo it was. It was old (as in large primer) for sure.

I hope this is an issue that can be resolved to the extent we can find out what exactly caused this malfunction. If it's an ammo issue or a rifle issue, then we need to know. Just my thoughts. Hope the very knowledgeable guys on this forum canl shed more light on the issue. Just my thoughts, because I do think we do need to know. It's in our interest to know.
Looking at what's been posted, It might be headspace, high pressure Extreme ammo, too much chrome, or a combination of them.

Glad you or your buddy were not seriously hurt!
Please let us know of any followup info you might receive from SSA.

Glad no one was hurt, was that a brand new rifle? i would have the chamber and barrel checked by a independant gunsmith then send it back to wherever you got it and also notify SSA of the problem.
Edit: nevermind i just read the post on AR15, was a new gun but it was over 2 years old so i assume it was the older spec chamber with a hot SSA load that caused the Kaboom.
