Also, if you're looking for info on the 6.8, this is the place, as other sites seem to be much less familiar with it, and a lot of their information is either outdated, or just plain wrong. Ditto on the Remington ammo. Went out Sunday and had my son shoot 3 different brands through my 6.8 RRA ( I just had shoulder surgery) and the Remington was close to 5 inch groups at 100 yds. Hornady was much better at about 1.5 and the SSA was under an inch. Shot the remington again and got the same results. That stuff is junk at least for my gun it is.
I am new to the 6.8 cartridge and in the process of building my first ar. I have a Spikes Tactical lower to be mated to a Stag Arms 5hl upper. What ammo would you recommend for both home defense and out to 200-300 yards or there about? 16" carbine length. What is the max distance of that round with my barrel? What ammo brand and type? Thank you in advance.
