Default Long Stroke vs. Short Stroke Piston

I am going to be shopping for a new upper specifically for shooting 3 gun in the next couple months and have some questions about your uppers. I specifically want a GPU for my 3 gun rifle, but am new to the piston world. The long stroke piston you use looks very similar to the innards of an AK-47 is that correct? Why did you choose to go with a long stroke piston design instead of a short stroke design like I am seeing in all of the other GP uppers I see around.

I am extremely impressed with the looks of your uppers and am very likely to bu one from you, just have these few questions.

    Thanks.

Thank you for your interest biglucky.

One of the design inspirations for the PWS Long Stroke Piston System found in our Addax Tactical ATAC series of Gas Piston Uppers came from the AK series of rifles.

There are many different piston systems on the market today, and their designs vary from each other in many different, yet subtle ways.

We chose to use the PWS Long Stroke Piston System on our line of ATAC GPU's for the following reasons:

The PWS Long Stroke Piston System incorporates some special design features that enhances the gas dwell timing, so that the system does not does not require multiple adjustments for tuning purposes when using different types of ammunition, and/or sound suppressors.

The Long Stroke System in our ATAC Gas Piston Uppers is not a hard hitting system due to the one piece piston rod attached directly to the bolt carrier group, so there are no parts hammering each other.

The Rail are actually independent rail panels, which can be easily removed and replaced in case of damage.

This system is rugged, reliable, simple, yet very efficient and accurate, and that is why we chose to use this particular Long Stroke Piston System on our ATAC GPU.

If you get back around this summer, the ZK should be out.
