    Default Question about Rails

I just bought the RRA 6.8 and it comes with the standard mid length forearm grips. I've been shopping around for a quad rail. My question is, none of the vendors mention mid length size, only measurements in inches. I haven't received the gun yet so I can't measure. Any help/advice?

I think either the 9 or 10 inch fore end rails will be suitable for the mid-length gas system, depending on what you are planning to do.

I deal with about 5%-10% of the population 80%-90% of the time...

I think (just a guess, hard to really tell from his post) he is looking for the exact size to replace the had guards and still use the stock delta ring. As to be able to use the guards in the pic below...

Trainman... If am right on this, the photo above can be found with the info needed for a "Mid" length system from Troy, there are many others, I just use troy because, well I like them... http://store.troyind.com/Mid_Length_...rf-d9bt-00.htm

    Typically, 7" = carbine, 9" = midlength, & 12" = rifle/full length

If you don't want to remove the front sight tower and want a free float rail system take a look at the Daniel Defense Omega rail it is very easy to install and is rock solid when mounted. The Omega rail is available in mid-length. Another option is the Troy rail. Midwest Industries offer a rail but it requires you to remove the delta ring and spring for installation so it is not a true drop in rail.

A 9" rail will fit behind a front sight on a middy.
