Default What do you use your ARs for?

Everyone has a different purpose, some have all. What is yours?
You can click more than 1

BTW- figured Zombie defense would go under pleasure/blasting but, too late to change.

My first AR was for plinking and range use, then I bought a 24" Varminter than I was using for longer range plinking... this year I decided to purchase the 6.8 for whitetail deer... should be fun!

    Which one?

J/K - I could use any of 'em for most of the applications listed, but a 17lb. Service Rifle wouldn't be my first choice for hunting/plinking... Best all-purpose AR in my collection is the 18" 6.8. Not the lightest/handiest/most accurate, but it ranks high in every category.

I just about clicked every one of the catagories. I think I didn't click 2 of them. That's just because I don't have 3-gun or high power competitions in my area.

I find that most of the time my AR is along for the ride when I leave home, either on the passenger seat or in the back. Never know when you'll see a coyote in my neighborhood.

Its definately my everything rifle, I don't even shoot the bolts anymore but I don't hunt big game anymore either.

Th AR-15 changed for me, forever with the introduction of the 6.8 SPC. It became my "do everything rifle." Hunting, recreational shooting and varmint shooting all rolled into one gun. If I had to bug out, I would still want a 6.8 with me.

My favorite AR of all time is my AR Performance 20" 12 twist, 3 groove stainless I have mounted on a Colt lower with Bill Springfield 3 lb trigger. Even though it is not a SBR (to which I am now addicted), and its not the lightest AR in the safe, it is the most accurate I've ever seen.

It is also one of the most accurate rifles I've ever owned, bolt, SA or otherwise.

If I could only keep two rifles, it would be my suppressed 10/22, and that AR.

I really wish I could do that again. Since I started working on an Army post I can't do that anymore.

But I'm heading afield with one of my 6.8s Saturday, we'll see if my luck's changed since last year.
