I have an old garmin etrex laying around the house...it was given to me and i haven't ever taken it out to use it. It has been powered up and played around with, but no actual field time on it. I am not sure about the upgradeability of it, but it won't cost ya that much compared to some of the fancier ones out there. You might do some research on the net about it and let me know if it something you would be interested in.
Oh, it has a USB cable, car charger(but doesn't include rechargeable batteries), a belt clip, and a belt pouch. Basically everything it came with when it was given to me.
