Is stag actually offering an m4 upgrade now?

Nothing like that has been suggested or confirmed from Stag directly. One post indicated Stag was going to start offering M4 feedramps in new production rifles from a member not StagArms themselves. Nothing at all from Stag indicating they were going to do any M4 ramps for 'existing' customers either. I think Stag is only just beginning to come around.

I am optimistic about Stag incorporating M4 feed ramps and that move would put them as one of the better production 6.8 products in the market. I would suggest waiting to see what they do if anything first as we have had good news turn the other way before.

Stag did express an interest in correcting the mismarked barrels that were marked 1:11 twist, but actually had 1:10. This seems to be confined to the Model 5, not the 7 as member feedback has the M7 barrels are actually 1:11 as specified.

The word is that Stag is now including the ramps in their new production rifles. A few of us suggested to some that they inquire with Stag to see if they can get an upgrade but I haven't seen any reply to that question yet.

I'm cautiously optimistic this is going to happen. It will be nice to see one in person with the M4 ramps. That will be a very good move for Stag to make.

PH your receiver extension appears to be the standard AR rifle extensions and rifle receiver. That's still going to be a nice rifle by the way.
Here is a photo from AR15Barrels that shows the differences. The good as far as the 6.8 goes would be the M4 extension with M4 receiver. The others would be iffy or bad. Feed ramps in the "receiver" is what the 6.8 needs for ultimate reliability. Some get by without them, but there are too many posts about feeding issues with 6.8s without M4 receivers and M4 ramped extensions.

Yep, you are right just a standard cut. The upper is M4 cut, but compared to your pic it isn't cut near enough I guess thats what you get for 78.00 shipped TYD. I think I'll pick up a drimmel stone this week and cut the upper just a little better. It just needs that deeper cut to help it out....

Short YouTube video showing M4 ramps being installed with a Dremel. Another vid follows showing how he polished the ramps. Looks good to me.

I just sent my mismarked twist rate barrel in today. When I talked to David yesterday I asked him about getting the M4 ramps added while my upper was getting the barrel changed, and he said they would do it. Hopefully it will become standard on new 6.8's if it hasn't already.
