Winter hiatus from shooting and relaoding. Ladder development looks good with all 110 and 155 gr bullets, the 120 SSt is simply incredible. Th eonly bullet I've had issues with are the 95TTSX - I get maybe 4 MOA. I've got nearly everything I need - want is another story - but am set to relaod 6.8, 5.56, 30.06 and .45. Come a long way from just last year when al I had was 1 rifle at the beginning of the year and nothing else. Gun running all this past the wife has been - harrowing! lol

I now have 2 complete 6.8 builds. One has an ARP 16" barrel/bolt, nickel boron BCG and Geissele SSA trigger. She is a sweet shooter! The other is a DPMS 20" with standard fare for all the other parts - she too shoots very well, but is heavy! My other build is a 5.56 and is used to placate COMNAVHOMENWPAC so she doesn't feel she is being neglected.

not happy with the condition of my brass after expending it. I've got markings on the neck of the round that may make it hard to reload.

I've replaced the standard spring with a Tubbs flat wire buffer spring and put an ST-T2 heavy buffer to see if it will correct this problem. My retirement and disability pay go pretty far, but I have to exercise some restraint. The optics I've chosen for now is the Weaver Grand Slam Tactical 3-10x. I like the mill-mil adjustments, the price from Midway couldn't be beat based on this feature alone. I'll check this out shooting on the 200 and 400 yard lines. The 20" DPMS barrel is longer than I like (I bought this barrel and upper from someone who shot 20 rounds down range then gave up shooting). I think 16 or 18", deep 6 the YHM hadngaurds, too bulky and use something practical. The trigger group is a basic RRA single stage, Tune it less than standard 5lb pull or put a 2 stage in. Pictures soon,it's nothing fancy nor do I have a desire to make it so. I just want to personalize it enough, but not add weight or features that I will never really need. The Harris bipod may go too

Post retirement education has been challenging, rewarding and not a bit frustrating. Rang time week after next after a long dry spell - ballistic therapy. I have taken my 6.8 build out 2 times now. One was to get familiar with it, check out it's "personality, and to get it sighted in. The second time was just for kicks, the kids I've met at school are for the most part pretty good, most are conservative 2nd Amendment supporters (it's a private Christian based school) with no knowledge of the "black rifle". After holding a quick class on the rifle itself, and some "range" safety issues (some of these kids had shot before, but had no concept of how to do this safely - it was a farmers field so it was not structured until I made it so) I wacthed them fire my 6.8. 1) The brass was ejecting at 1:30 ish, and the scope was just not adequate (1.25-4).

Hi, and welcome to my little corner of paradise. I served 28 years in the Navy before a lucky mortar round made my right arm a challenge to use. So, as part of my fun time, and a wife who indulges me to some extent (I would bankrupt us if I could buy all that I wanted) I find myself getting deeper and deeper into firearms in ways I never did before.
