Hello Art if you are here I am having trouble with some of your 90 grain Speer TNT rounds. Here is the thread link: http://www.68forums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=82801#post82801
The lot number is SSA10072-90OTM
Seems to be over pressured or the case diameter too large, not sure, I sent some of them to Harrison at AR Performance to measure. Cases are sticking in chamber and not extracting. Anyone else having trouble with the 90 grain TNTs? Problem is, a couple days ago I ordered 100 more rounds of it before I knew they had issues. Can I send them back to you and switch them out for another type of ammo or do you think the next lot I get will be OK?

I am having an issue with the same rounds it will hit the primer and dent the primer but not fire, then I clear it and the next one will fire but over pressure and not extract. When I have time I will contact Nancy and have her look at this thread and try to fix the problem. My issue is I am a delear and there is no telling how many cases or boxes I have sold of it already.

Yep, it sounds like the same problem I am having. What type of rifle/chamber are you using?

I was planning on ordering some to try in my new Bison 18" I guess we'll wait and see where it goes.
Art, do you know if any of the barrels that fired the 90's okay was a Bison?

They are supposed to be taking the TNTs off of their web site.

I also purchased 500 rounds of this lot haven't shot any yet. Would like to know what to do with it?

That's my question, Art said most chambers/barrels are shooting it fine, you can call and order it if it's shooting fine in your rifle but they're removing it from the website until they get it all worked out. If they would work fine in my setup I'd like to get some because of the price, and I can't reload right now.

I rather not injure myself or my rifle finding out though

Just send them to me and I'll dispose of them in an environmentally sound manner. :-p

I was also experiencing some issues with the 90 Grain TNT, and I had to actually open up the gas port hole larger in order to obtain the optimal cycling pressure, just for this round.
When anyone calls and asks me what I recommend for 6.8 ammunition, I normally recommend SSA, but not the 90 Grain TNT (sorry SSA).
I normally recommend the SSA 110 Grain Hunter, 110 Grain Nosler Tip, 85 Grain Barnes TSX, 115 Grain OTM etc. and either in the normal or tactical/combat loads, since I have tested our uppers with these rounds many times.
All of our White Oak Barrels are SpecII Chamber, except for some very early GPU's (only 5 went out with the SpecI/Sammi Spec chamber late in 2008).

It has come to my attention that my past issues with the TNT 90 Grain being underpowered, and the issues being experienced here are not related to each other.
Sorry, if my post causes any confusion.
