XXX edit 9-09-09 per Cold, I'll be sending another 2 guides for the December drawings in jui of the dollar per guide thing.
$ 25.00 delivered 1st class US mail. Postal Money Order, I'll wait a week for personel check, or add 1.00 to use paypal.
I also make bore guides in .223 and .308 , 9mm, 243 WSSm, etc, plus HK 91, 93, MP5...
skered53@yahoo.com for pictures or any questions.
Thanks, Derek Scott

I should add, I take US postal money order, those strange Walmart M.O.'s, will wait 1 week for a check to clear and also take paypal, just add another dollar to cover their fee.

I also made some AR take down push pins, delrin tipped crimped in a 223 case, they first 10 are just only $1 with a guide .

I think I fingered-out the pic thing
Here's a 6.8 with black acetal chamber insert on top.
next is 6.8 with white tip ( ran out of white, thought I'd try the black)
bottom os a 5.56 with white tip

edit 10-22. Here's the end shot of the cap that can go on the rear of the 6.8 guide. it is drilled to .265" to reduce the opening from .305 to better center the rod along the bore axis. Since most 270 cal rods are actually about .250", the 265 give plenty of room and the PVC cap will not wear the coating on the rod. The tings in the guide and the cap are actually 1/4" drill bits to show how your rod would fit. I've sent quite a few of these out already with no complaints.

http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd265/skered53/cap.jpg[/IMG]

http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd265/skered53/Aug1acetal.jpg[/IMG]
Here's a original cap, it's 1" diameter as compared to the new ones that are 3/4" diameter, anyhow it shows how it works.
The threaded section of delrin has been replaced with a nylon 1/4" bolt.

For those either getting a 5.56 guide or using a 22 cal rod on our 6.8, I also make a cap with a .212" hole ( My Dewey rod measure .204") I can drill it to .219" if you want.
The cap adds .50c to the order ( this way I'm not sending you something you don't want or won't use )

10-22 edit over. *********

OK, one guide going to OK zip 73099.
another going to Tenn. zip 37020

Plus I'm now a team member, and pending Mod approval, I will donate a guide to the next member's drawing.

I did get approval, so I'll be sending a guide to Cold for the next drawing, think I'll throw in some of the take down pin delrin pushers I made.

Aug 6th edit
Gratis guide sent to Cold to check out,

plus another guide sent to zip 87155, that's 3 so far
and another pending .... this will be # 4

BLAKDOG:

Does your guide to be used from the muzzle or from the chamber? One of your posts mentions a tube, but I don't see it from the picture. Your avatar confuses me, but I admit that is often not hard to do!

I'll email you for a picture, but maybe you could add one to this thread (and of your pin pusher) too?

Thanks!

a few months ago I had some green tape to use with the red, it really looked like late Christmas packages.

Glad you like it, tell all your shootin' buds !

Please excuse my ignorance but I haven't had any experience with bore guides. It would appear to me that the flash suppressor would act as a bore guide. Obviously I am missing something here. Also I clean my weapons from the chamber area.

Jamesb74
01-13-2010, 02:36 PM
The bore guide goes into the chamber area protecting it from the steel and rod.

BlakDog
01-14-2010, 11:19 AM
Thanks inalabama !. Nice Football team BTW ;-)

The flash uppresor is much to wide to prevent you from pulling the steel cleaning rod gainst the sides of your barrel crown.

If anyone's getting ready to deploy with their 5.56 stick, let me know an I can send you one at cost plus shipping. Military address's only. as my cousin says. GFB !
