My wife has been gone to Montreal for the entire week. I decided since she was gone I would go hunting, and basically there is not to much to hunt right now except yotes and hogs. I shot a hog earlier this week after a yote hunt that wasnt sucessful.

Ive shot a handful of yotes over the years but never when I was hunting for them. Ive went out and called, played tapes what ever and usually nothing. Well yesterday I went out with a friend for some yote hunting. I have a powered speaker with a mp3 player hooked up to it. The 20 minute sequence I played hadnt played maybe a little over 3 minutes when this female came out just bouncing across the field. She stoped about 80 yards out and one shot from the AR was all it took. Sorry fellas I wasnt using the 6.8 on this one. I decided to put the 223 to work!
I still cant believed it worked its never worked, but it did yesterday.

Before the hunt I wanted to resight the rifle as I had changed some things on it. I decided I would try and shoot it at 300 yards. I ended up with this 1.8" group at 300 yards. These guns continue to impress me!

Hunting yotes is why I bought an AR. I have the remington and love it.

Coyote hunting is awesome when it finally works out. I wish I could kill them more regular. I probably have a 10 hunts to 1 coyote ratio. That's a killer group at 300!!!

Very nice groups. Calling coyotes can be very addictive, and also very frustrating. Come September, you should find it somewhat easier to call the coyotes. The pups should be out running on their own, and uneducated yotes make for some easy calling. Check out http://texaspredatorposse.ipbhost.com/ for some great info about predator calling.
