I'm thinking of getting a cheaper scope as I don't really need anything to pricey for some 100-300yd range time. I have settled on a few and thought this one looked right for my 6.8. Does anyone have anything they can say whether pos or neg regarding bushnell or this particular one in reference? thx

thanks for the feedback, as Paul said in a pm, that's too much eye relief!

In that price range I'd recommend moving up a little to the Nikon Prostaff. Much better glass, extremely clear. I'm very pleased with mine. Easily worth the $132. Cheapest place on the net for Nikon scopes:

I went with the Trophy, which is almost identical but shorter eye relief. Mostly because Natchez had them on clearance for $50 at the time though.

It's got full field of view when I bring it to the sholder standing, prone, in any position and the optics are clear. I'm happy with it.

I got a Nikon Prostaff 2x7 today for my mini 6.8, I was looking locally for a 1-4 but found none so I went with the Nikon as it atleast has a 2 power setting.

I recommend paying a little more and getting a Bushnell Elite scope, they are a great value.

I have 2 bushnell trophy's and 1 banner. The Trophy scope is definitely a step up. Eye relief is pretty narrow range, but otherwise very nice. I generally think Trophy's are a good value.

In my opinion if you can swing the dollars this is a great bargain. Open box demo 4200 for $259.

In the slightly higer price range above your original you can look at

Weaver Classic fully multicoated http://www.opticsplanet.net/weaver-rifle-scopes-v9-9x50-duplex.html
Sightron great warranty http://www.opticsplanet.net/sightron-si-series-3-9x40mm-rifle-scope-si39x40.html
Nikon Prostaff as mentioned above

Also I like this chart http://www.chuckhawks.com/recommended_riflescopes.htm

I hope this helps!!
