I traded for a new 516 today. I've been wanting to try one. I'm going to go try it out tomorrow. I was playing with it earlier and put it on a Ruger Mark III. It looks huge on it!! It points really well. Before I put it on one of my rifles, I'm going to test it on some steel plates with my 22's.

Has anyone tried an eotech on a handun?
I'll post my feeling on the 516 tomorrow night.

Well I just shot it. I really thought nothing of eotechs before this. Well now I think I like them, alot. I was wearing stuff out at about 75 yards(free hand). Fast target to target. The lower the brightness the better. I will do a write up later.

Well just went to the farm again to get some more fire wood. I shot 5 rounds out of my carbon 15 with the eotech on it. Broke the extractor. I've had this gun since they came out and have never shot it. Well it shot good all morning. Then it started messing up. The rounds were stove piped with the live round already in the chamber. I don't know if this is what broke it or if it was broke and that's what was causing the malfunction.

The eotech is great. I will put it on something else and try it again in the morning.

Are extractors hard to change? I'll have to do some research after dinner. Is there an extractor that's better than others? Should I replace anything else while I'm doing it?

I will start another thread to gather info.
