Hey guys I am building a SPR and trying to track down an upper. Obiviously as this is an SPR I want it to be accurate and I heard that the upper receiver can play a big part as it needs to be in spec. I'm not talking "mil spec" but just making sure everything is lined up and true. I here that the standard upper with m4 ramps can be hit and miss. Is this true? I have been either looking at a Vltor or Laure upper. I have seen a few places that get the larue uppers and machine m4 ramps. So what so you? Is it worth the wait to find a Larue or Vltor or just get a basic forged upper?
If you guys think it's worth getting one of the billet uppers any advice on where to find one?

If you are looking for absolute precision, the Vltor uppers are real nice. The Vltor VIS would be my #1 choice if I was building a pure precision build. After having feeding issues with my first 6.8SPC that had no M4 feedramps, M4 feedramps are a must in my opinion, even if I have to file them in myself.

M4 ramps are a must. I guess what I am asking is would you use a run of the mill flat top upper from bravo co that has m4 ramps or hold out and buy a vltor?

A regular M4 receiver will absolutely work fine.
