I just had a guy tell me that I can convert my .223 mags to 6.8 simply by replacing the spring and follower. Nothing is ever this simple, but it would be nice as I could just switch out some of my many brownells .223 mags. What say you?

The guy is wrong and obviously not a 6.8 owner. The aluminum .223 mags will bulge and not allow the rounds to feed beyond five or so. That's why the 6.8 mags are made from thicker gauge stainless steel... to resist this tendency to bulge in the magazine well.

Your right...it's seldom that simple...

I would not take any more "advice" from this person.

I figured as much. Thanks for setting things straight.
