Mr. Wilson, I notice on your website that your 6.8 barrels are match grade. However, Ive noticed while researching (mostly on this site) that most of these barrels....ARP, Wilson, Bison etc., while great barrels, are not "match grade". Can you clear this up for me?
Thanks!!

squattingcoyote,
Matchgrade is a term thrown around quite a bit, but is generally used to denote "best quality" in a barrel. Our barrels are profiled from "match grade" stainless barrel blanks. I'm not sure where you would have read that our barrels are not match grade?

I read it from this thread a couple of weeks ago. and your right, the term gets thrown around alot.... but from the amount of great reviews ive read about your barrels i think they are just what i'm looking for. is it best to order online or by phone?

I have been noticing some website for companies offering "match grade " AR barrels for 150$ to 180$ lately. I am skeptical of these companies being that I have never heard of the companies as well as the price. Well what I want to know is, What makes a barrel "Match Grade"? Are this sites regulars (ARP, Bison, Wilson, Woa...etc..) classified as Match Grade?

IMO they are not match grade. WOA is using Shilen now they are match grade, PacNor makes match grade barrels but Noveske is saying now their stainless barrels aren't Pac Nor, PRI and MSTN use Douglas match grade. Bison, Wilson and ARP use Shaw and they are not match grade, they shoot decent for a production barrel but are not lapped and not considered by anyone I know to be match grade. All the so called match grade barrels on gunbroker are not match grade, Colt started that stuff back in 94 with the last gun scare when they made AR15 Match Sporters instead of AR15 assault rifles.

I think its best to order the barrels over the phone, as inventory changes fast on them, and we can give you all the up to date models available. Thanks for the interest!
