did a little spot and stalk saturday morning. i was watching some does directly upwind and downhill of me mill around. they kept looking behind them in the brush and i knew a big guy was about to step out. about a 150yd shot with my ar chambered in 6.8 spc shooting hornady vmaxs. entered behind his right shoulder, exited infront of his left shoulder. barely made it over the fence he was standing by, ran about 5 steps and dropped. 13 points total, 11 scorable point. this is my first deer and im hooked!!!

yes it is a leapers and its ****ty. well i guess its good for the money but im planning on getting a nikon sometime soon or designating this upper for hogs and getting an eotech

artfwtx- ya dropped it off at the taxidermist. having a cape mount in the semi sneak position head turned left to catch that tall brow tine and those two kickers on his g2. wish i could have it back next wk, hed look good in my dorm. i kissed him goodbye till july at the earliest though lol

Thanks man. Yes, it's a leupold 3-9x40 rifleman series. It's their cheapest scope, but I don't have any complaints so far. I'm hoping to take a big 8 point and some javelinas with it once finals are over.

A buddy that graduated last year runs an MLD ranch down near eagle pass and he invited me to come help him manage the deer herd and shoot javelinas. I'm in my 4th out of 5 years. :a01:
