well they day before thanksgiving going hog hunting on ca blm, in know prob wont see any thing, but all this reading is confusing my, so a bit of a repost here. i have a 14inch contender 1:10 twist. my max comfortable range is about 100 yars right now. i just ordered 60 rounds from ssa of 85g tsx barnes for sight in and hunting, but at thata short of a range would i get better expalion and energy out of the 110 gr tsx. granted im sorry i havent gotten muzzle velocity for each round yet.

The 85 TSX will do fine.

I like the 85TSX for velocity out of a shorter barrel. You need the velocity to make the TSX expand and deliver it's payload in the pig.
SSA's website has the 85 TSX load going "2850 out of a 10 inch barrel". That's smoking fast out of a 10 inch barrel. IIRC, recent posts have the TSX expanding completely at 2100 fps or faster. With a 14 inch barrel, I'd say you have plenty of velocity for 100 yards and more for the 85 to do its thing. :a37:

The 110 TSX is a good choice also. I just figured with a shorter barrel the extra velocity of the 85 TSX for the bullet to do its thing would help out on a hunt.
